I remember watching this on its original air date. It was really weird, especially because apparently viewers at home were asked to vote which song they wanted The Smashing Pumpkins to play. From what I can remember could choose any song from the Pumpkins' entire catalog even though the Wikipedia entry states that there was a choice between three songs.
The winning song was "I of the Mourning," which seemed really odd to me because the song had not been released as a single and hadn't gotten much airplay. Even the band seemed surprised.
Then again, this is just my memory of watching it. It was certainly quite awkward.

Recording is left-channel only (not mono). Should be mixed down to both left/right channels and re-uploaded.
